Most Outstanding Senior

After being voted 'most outstanding senior' by his classmates, Alvin received this year's John Philip Sousa Band Award.

Alvin auditioned and was chosen as a soloist with the General Butler Vagabonds Drum and Bugle Corps of Butler, PN. Alvin will spend the summer touring with them.

Scholarship Winners

The Rockingham Music Club offered scholarships to the Mars Hill University's Summer Music Program. Those who wished to attend this two week camp, prior to the Raider's own band camp, had to compete for the scholarships by writing a paper about what music meant to them.

Texie Doolittle presents scholarships, worth one-hundred-and-twenty 1980 dollars to the Marching Raider's winners, rising senior Kim Anderson and rising juniors, Cindy Coleman and Cathy Wiggins.
